I purchased an ENVY 5000 from Amazon which promised 4 months free trial of Instant Ink. I've followed the instructions and apparently I'm now going to be charge £1.99. Can someone please help me.
Thanks.
Paul.

Hey there! @paulapc1, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!
I understand you have a 4-month free instant ink trial and but you have been charged upon activation.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any changes to your printer?
Have you registered for instant ink services?
Please check the contents of your printer box for an enrollment code relating to your trial.
Your printer should have come with either an enrollment key or a claim code. You should be able to add any promo code during the last phase of the enrollment.
If you have the printer enrolled and if the 5-month trial was not applied, send me a screenshot of the trial in a private message with the details below.
So, I can look at your account and get the trial applied.
If you still have issues please share few details in a private message, so I can check the account details and help you in crediting the free months to you.
Printer Model Name
Serial Number of the printer
Instant ink Email Address
Instant Ink Account Number
Address to ship the cartridge
Do you need black or colour ink cartridges?

@paulapc1, thanks for your prompt response and time.
I appreciate your efforts for writing back to us.
Have you enrolled in the instant ink program?
If you have enrolled what is the plan you have selected?
As you mentioned you don't see the free trial on the box or on the paperwork.
If you have enrolled in a 15-page plan the free trial might not be applicable.
However, If you are on a different plan then please contact Amazon and check for the free trial.
Hope this answers your query!
Take Care! 🙂

@paulapc1, Thanks for your quick response again.
I appreciate your efforts for writing back to us.
I understand you would like to know how to cancel the instant ink subscriptions and get a refund.
Also, Only if you use the service for the current billing cycle you will be charged. If you have not used the services you will not be charged.
Try the steps recommended below to cancel the instant ink services.
Sign in to your HP Instant Ink account to cancel your HP Instant Ink service.
-
Go to hpinstantink.com/signin (the HP Connected website) to sign in to your HP Instant Ink account, if you are not signed in already.
Your HP Instant Ink account page opens.
-
In the Status area of your HP Instant Ink account page, a printer drop-down menu is available when there are multiple printers enrolled. Click the drop-down menu, and then select the printer you want to cancel.
-
Check the Print History or the ePrint address of the printer to confirm you have selected the correct printer.
-
In the My Account area, click Change Plan.
-
Click Cancel Enrollment.
-
Click Next, and then Cancel Enrollment to confirm your cancellation request.
You receive an email confirmation of the cancellation. The cancellation finalizes at the end of the current billing cycle when the final charge processes successfully.

I have done a few prints with the colour cartridge that came from instant ink, I dont see why I should have to pay anything at all, I never wanted to sign up for instant ink I just wanted the 4 month trial.
When I try and cancel it says that I will be charged £1.99 at the end of the cycle (16th december), this is unnaceptable to me.

@paulapc1, thanks for your quick response and time.
I appreciate your efforts for writing back to us.
As the printer you are using is an instant ink ready printer and the ink cartridges are instant ink ready cartridges.
So once you install the ink cartridges and register for instant ink the billing period would start automatically.
Refer the instant ink FAQ for more information. Click Here
