I had been printing with no problems when the color on my pages started printing out-of-true.  I replaced the cyan and magenta ink cartridges which were low.  The next few pages printed fine, then the problem started again.  I cleaned the printheads several times.  Problem persists.  The diagnostic report says the printheads are good, but the print quality report is missing any color on it that is made up of cyan or yellow.  The black text prints just fine.  Any suggestions on what to do?

Hi @msywalsh

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I understand that you are experiencing a print quality issue. I would like to help.

Though the diagnostics report says that the printheads are good, I have my doubts. Try going through the following documents. They should either resolve the issue, or confirm that the printheads need replacing.

I had done everything in those documents except replace the printheads. I was trying to find some indication that that was the problem before spending that much money. The print quality diagnostic report didn't show any white lines through the colored blocks. The entire blue or green block was missing, but not all the time. Sometimes the diagnostic report showed everything fine, sometimes the blue block was missing and the green block was yellow, sometimes both the blue and green blocks were missing. The fact that sometimes the printer printed correctly made me wonder whether the printheads were the problem. I did finally replace the cyan/magenta printhead. That fixed the problem for a short while. Now I have ordered the black/yellow printhead and will replace it when the new one arrives.
