Hi @cristene,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

If you're experiencing issues with your HP 2755 printer and getting an error message when trying to print from your computer, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

1. Check Error Message

  • Read the Error Message: Take note of the specific error message displayed on your printer or computer. This can help diagnose the problem.

2. Restart Printer and Computer

  • Power Cycle: Turn off your printer and computer, unplug the printer from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn both devices on again.

3. Check Printer Connections

  • USB Connection: If you're using a USB connection, ensure that the cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
  • Network Connection: If you're using a wireless connection, ensure that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer. Check the printer's display to confirm the connection.

4. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Check for Updates: Go to the HP website and download the latest drivers for the HP 2755 printer. Install them on your computer.
  • Reinstall the Printer:
    1. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
    2. Remove the HP 2755 printer from the list.
    3. Add it back by clicking on Add a printer or scanner.

5. Run Windows Troubleshooter

  • Use Built-in Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot and select Printer. Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix issues.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @cristene,

Please find the next steps below.

6. Check Printer Status

  • Set as Default Printer: Make sure the HP 2755 is set as your default printer. Right-click on the printer in Printers & Scanners and select Set as default.
  • Check Queue: Open the print queue by clicking on the printer in Printers & Scanners and ensuring there are no stuck print jobs. If there are, clear them.

7. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Firmware Update: If your printer is connected to the internet, use the HP Smart app to check for any firmware updates that may resolve the issue.

8. Reset the Printer

  • Factory Reset: If the error persists, you may need to perform a factory reset on your printer. Refer to the printer’s manual for instructions on how to reset it.

9. Check for Paper Jams and Ink Levels

  • Inspect for Jams: Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions.
  • Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and not empty.

Following these steps should help you identify and resolve the issue with your HP 2755 printer.

If none of the above steps work, it may be time to contact HP support for further assistance as this could be hardware.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
