Hi @Nannie-01,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP DeskJet Plus 4130 is showing an error and won’t print documents, even though it can make copies successfully. Let’s go through a few steps to fix this issue.

a. Check Printer Status

Make sure the printer is powered on, has paper loaded, and no blinking lights on the control panel (other than Wi-Fi).

If any lights are blinking (like ink or error icons), note the pattern — it may indicate a specific issue such as low ink or paper jam.

b. Check the ConnectionEnsure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or mobile device.

Try printing a Wireless Network Test Report:

Hold the Information (i) and Cancel (X) buttons together for 5 seconds.

Check if the report shows “Connected” under Network Status.

If not connected, re-run the setup using the HP Smart app → + Add Printer → Set Up a New Printer.

c. Clear Print Queue

On your computer, open Control Panel → Devices and Printers.

Right-click your HP DeskJet Plus 4130 → select See what’s printing.

Click Printer → Cancel All Documents.

Try printing again after clearing the queue.

d. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor.

It automatically detects and fixes communication and driver-related issues.

Follow on-screen steps and try printing again once the tool completes.

e. Reinstall the Printer Driver

Uninstall your current printer software from Settings → Bluetooth & Devices → Printers & Scanners.

Reboot your computer.

Reinstall the printer using the HP Smart app or by downloading the Full Feature Software and Drivers from HP’s support website.

f. Test Printing from Another Device

Try printing from a phone using the HP Smart mobile app.

If it prints fine from another device, the issue is likely with the computer’s print driver or spooler service.

I hope this helps.
