I am connected to my Officejet Pro 8600, can see it in the list of printers, I can send documents to the print queue - but when I try to complete printing, it searches for the printer and I get the message 'Printer validation failed'. Please help! It works perfectly well on the other laptops in the house.

I see that you have installed the printer but it will still not print. I would be happy to help you and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. Please download and run the Print and Scan Doctor, it will likely diagnose and resolve the issue you are experiencing.
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor (did it print or scan, any error messages)?
If the issue persists, please try the steps within this guide:
