Powered on my HP OfficeJet Pro 3125e and installed the setup ink. got to the alignment window and is says to replace the ink with new ink. After replacing with new, it said to reinstall the setup ink and the cycle continues. Any help?

When setting up your HP printer for the first time, it is essential to use the SETUP cartridges that shipped with the device. These cartridges are necessary for initializing and calibrating the printer. If you encounter an error during setup, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

 

Check the Ink Cartridges

Turn on the printer: Ensure the printer is powered on.

Open the cartridge access door: Wait until the carriage becomes idle and silent.

Verify the cartridges: Check if the cartridges installed have 'SETUP' printed on their labels.

  • If SETUP cartridges are missing: Look for a white box in the printer packaging or contact HP Customer Support. SETUP cartridges can only be obtained with a new printer or replacement printhead kits.
  • If SETUP cartridges are installed: Proceed to the next steps.

Remove and reinsert the cartridges:

  • Removing the cartridge: Push in the tab on the cartridge, then lift it out of the slot.
  • Reinsert the cartridge: Insert the cartridge into its color-coded slot and press down until it clicks into place.
  • Repeat: Perform the same steps for all other cartridges.

Close the cartridge access door.

Initialize the Printer with Correct Cartridges

  1. Check for SETUP or Instant Ink Ready cartridges:
    • SETUP cartridges: Install them to initialize the printer.
    • Missing SETUP cartridges: Contact HP Customer Support if you cannot find them.
  2. Remove both cartridges:
    • Carriages with cartridge latches: Lift the latch, then pull the cartridge up and out.
    • Carriages without latches: Press down gently to release the cartridge, then pull it out.
  3. Insert and initialize one cartridge:
    • Insert the black cartridge: Close the cartridge access door.
    • Validation: Acknowledge the single-cartridge mode message if it appears to initialize the printer.
    • Swap cartridges: If the error persists, remove the black cartridge and install the tri-color cartridge.
