"Filter failed" Error message

Hello,

since today, I get always the error message "Filter failed"

The printer is connected via USB. 

I tried these things:

- Installed newest printer package 5.1 (in the printer driver it shows only 5.0.5)

- Reset Printer System (ctrl - click in printer list) and restart computer

- checked if computer name is correct and equal to place field

- searched all forums for solutions -> nothing worked

Anyone had this problem and knows the sulution?

The solution is to download (and install) this package which will update drivers AND THE CERTIFICATE:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-printer-essen...

If the link comes up blank, try right clicking and saving it. If you install this package and still have trouble, try uninstalling your printer and reinstalling.

Easy Admin did nothing. Easy Startup did nothing. 5.1 drivers did nothing. This worked for me!

I did as you suggested, and the printer started to respond, but then stopped and put ut up the msg "Can't open"/private/var/spool/cups/tmp/00c715fa0adc9

What does this mean and how do I get this corrected so that my printer will print when commanded from my Mac?

Did you already uninstall and reinstall your printer through System Preferences? If not, please do so. If so, try turning off your Mac, turning off your printer, starting your mac, then turn on you printer.
