Same problem here with my HP ENVY 4522 after replacing ink cartridges with genuine HP ink cartridges from Costco (if that matters).  Unsure if it is the colour or black that is causing issues

@adanali123 Do you have an instant Ink account? If not, please perform the steps mentioned below:

If yes, let me know.

Step 1: Verify the ink cartridge numbers

Make sure the ink cartridge numbers match your printer and country/region.

Go to HP Store, and then verify the ink cartridge numbers for your printer model and country/region. Replace any incompatible ink cartridges.

If the error persists, continue to the next step.

Step 2: Reset the printer

Reset the printer to recover from printer failures.

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.

  3. Wait 60 seconds.

  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.

    NOTE:

HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

  5. Turn the printer on.

If the error persists, continue to the next step.

I have the same issue for a second time.

My printer is HP Envy 4523 and it says... at least one of the cartridges has a problem. Message clears when I remove the colour cartridge (63).

I re-install it and the problem returns. As mentioned, second time it has happened and the cartridges have ink in them. This one is a 63XL - not cheap to keep replacing.

I've done all the troubleshooting - updated firmware etc.

Please help.

I’m having the same problem and I’m also an instaink member. I already tried all the steps above and I’m still having the same issue. Is there a way I can also get a new color cartridge?

I have an HP Envy 7645 that has recently started showing the message "Remove and reinstall the indicated ink cartridge..." and now will not print. It has ben doing that for over a week but I would just remove the cartridge and reinstall it and it would allow me to print the document. Tonight that no longer works.

I have tried removing and wiping the cartridge down like I saw suggested in a thread and I also performed a reset by unplugging from the printer and the wall, etc and it still does not work.

I believe there must be something wrong with the color cartridge because my online profile in Instant Ink shows a cartridge error.

Please help?
