Product: HP Office jet Pro 9025

Message received is always Document feeder was not able to pick up the original.  Make sure the document feeder cover is closed completely.  Load the document in the feeder and try again.    Once I open and closed the feeder cover  3 or 4 times, it will finally read the document.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the document feeder issue. 

 

 Refer to "Printer does not pick up paper from the ADF" from this document. 

 

Also, try updating the printer's firmware. Refer to this document for steps - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
