I have to get in on this because I have been out of my mind about this issue for awhile. The problem is that the HP Easy Crap whatever it's called, never offered a true driver. Every time I downloaded and ran the stupid program it would tell me that Easy Scan was not installed (lies) and then would prompt me to change to the HP driver which would then fail. AirPrint would only allow you to print to the printer. FINALLY someone has offered a direct link to actually download the driver. It took awhile for it to do its thing but it works. I have been able to add the printer using the HP 8600 driver which also allows for the device to be added as a fax machine.
The problem is that this printer has been fine and has lasted. I see no reason to buy a new one simply because a driver can't be found. I just bought new ink from Sam's Club which cost me somewhere around $170. That's the cost of a new printer. I would have been really angry if I had to buy a new printer months after spending that much on ink. I have a 9018 model in the house as well which was purchased within the past year. So thank you for finally finding the link to the actual driver because that HP Easy Start BS certainly wasn't doing its job.

This has not been a complete fix. While it does scan, it does NOT provide the previous ability to edit the scan before saving it. There is no preview of the scanned item and no way to do any editing of it, as before. Please restore this functionality.

Hi @rmfoc,
Please download and install HP Printer Drivers 5.1:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/ASU/HPPrinterDrivers5.1.dm...
Note: if you receive any Certificate error, press OK and proceed with the installation.
Once completing the installation go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, click the plus sign and select your printer, within the Use drop-down menu select the HP Office Pro 8600 option and add the printer:
Next, ensure your drivers are up to date by clicking the Apple icon, select About this Mac and then press Software Update.
Click Store on the top menu bar, click Update All if any updated are available.
Finally, if you experience any issues, make sure you have the latest HP Easy Scan version installed from the Mac App Store:

This is a forum of users and responses have come from users. Not employees of HP. Asking for someone to restore something here isn't going to work. That's like asking your car mechanic to fix your flatulence.
