HP Officejet 3830
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am using the feeder and it will feed through the entire document AND scan each page,  but I have no idea where it saves it to.  It's not in "Scanned documents" .      I use the window on the printer itself to scan.

The instructions on HP say that "it saves it to the default save destination specified in the settings."    But then doesn't tell us where to find those settings, let alone find our document.   They assume we know what they are talking about --- I don't.     I sure would like to save it to the Desktop if there is a way to change those settings, wherever they are.

If I scan with  "Windows Fax & Scan"   each page will scan separately with the feeder, but then when I go to the "Scanned Documents" file,  only the FIRST PAGE of a multi-page document shows.

It should not be this difficult to do.

Hi,

Please try from printer software:

Double click printer icon on desktop,
Select Scan a Document or Photo,
Put the first page on the glass (face down),
Check options (size, dpi ...), and select Scan document to file,
Click Scan - machine will scan the first page
Remove the first page on the glass, put the second page,
Click + (plus sign) It sits on the left hand side of a red x
Machine will scan the second page, put 3rd page on the glass and click + again ..... to the end then click Save
  Click Done after Save

Or try HP Scan Extended using the following software

     ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, for Windows 10:

(a) Hit Win key,
(b) Scroll down to HP group/folder,
(c) Double click "HP Scan Extended"

Regards.

I have a feeder and want to use it,  not scan each page individually,  that takes much too long.  I've got over 50 pages to scan.

Pls tell me how to scan the whole document  (I'm breaking it up into 15 pages at a time)  --- well,  I can scan the 15 pages, that's not the problem.

What is the problem is that it clearly is scanning each page, but where does it go when it's finished scanning.   It's not in "Scanned Documents"   or in downloaded documents.   I can't find it anywhere.

When I use Windows10 and scan the whole thing,  it does go under Scanned Documents, but each page is separate and then I have to copy each page separately.   If it was 2 or 3 pages, I wouldn't mind, but as I said, I have over 50 pages to scan.

I know there is a way to get the whole thing on one document, I just can't figure out how and the google posts aren't helping for this printer.     Thank you !

The scanner will only do multiple pages when a "document" is scanned. So be sure "document" is selected before scanning rather than "photo". The scanner will only save multiple pages as PDF's. So be sure after scanning, the file type to be saved is "PDF" rather than "JPG". This works with either the document feeder or glass mode. In glass mode you simply select "Add" and "Scan" to add more sheets.

It does not matter if you select flatbed or document it will not scan in the document feed...period
