Trying to get multiple page scans to merge into one document - do not know how to enable the option

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

 

First, do ensure that you have the FULL feature software installed.

 

This relevant resource will show you how it's done:

 

Installing the Software for HP Officejet Pro 8730

 

After that,  this relevant resource will show you how to scan multiple pages and have it in on one document:

 

HP Officejet Pro 8710 / 8720 /8730 /8740 : Copy & Scan a 2 sided document using the ADF

 

 

If you documents are 1 sided, simply select 1 seided instead of 2 sided. (but your printer model supports 2 sided copy and scan!)

The link provided related to 2-sided scanning.  I need to figure out how to scan an 8 page document to one 8-page pdf rather than 8 one-page pdf's.  I believe I need to enable the "merge" function but do not know how to do this.

Hi,

 

From the HP Scan Software :

 

Example:

 

1. Select Page Sides a 1-sided (since you have a 8 pages document)

 

2. Select Document Feeder if Loaded (since it'll be more convenient than to scan 1 page at a time with the Flatbed scan glass)

 

3. Place document into the automatic document feeder and Scan.

4. If there are more documents to scan, click "+", else Save.  It should be saved as a PDF document containing 8 pages.

If it is still saving into 8 files.  Then please watch this resource on how to disable the "Save as Individual files"

 

HP Officejet Pro 8710/8720/8730/ 6960 /6970 series : Scan & save as individual PDF files

Save to a designated folder – can change the default scan name as well.
