I have a new Officejet 6700 connected with USB cable to the computer. (Windows XP) Printing from the computer works perfect. Sannen works onl+y from time to time. When trying to scan it says that there is no connection between scanner and computer. I changed the USB cable to exclude cable damage. I tried all helpfiles from HP No resulst. Who please can tell me what going on

I think I know where banhien was trying to point you. I'll explain his instructions in greater detail below.
1. Make sure you are on the Desktop view.
2. Double-click the icon on your Desktop that looks like your printer.
3. Under the section labeled scan, you should see "Manage Scan to Computer".
4. Click "Manage Scan to Computer" and a window will come up that will say Enable.
5. Click Enable to turn on the scan to computer feature.
If the icon isn't on the desktop, or isn't working, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the printer. If you need to do this, make sure to use the latest version of the software linked below. Hope this helps clear things up a bit.

Hi,
The software guys and girls have decided to disable scan to computer as default. I setup scan enable as default (ie start with Windows) and ran few tests. Both machines were up and running, the Windows 8 computer (with new driver) detected the scan function better than the Windows 7 machine (hit and miss) when turning on/of the printer.
Sorry, back to your case, probaly you need to enable Scan to Computer function first.
Hope this helps.

rdrbrt,
We have a separate Mac forum.
What printer do you have and what version of OS X are you using?

I can't scan from Officejet 6700 wirelessly. Printing wirelessly from the computer works perfectly. Scanning works if I use the USB cable, but I want to both print AND scan wirelessly. Please advise.
Steps I have already taken: I have verified IP printer IP address; I have verified "scan to computer" is enabled for 6700 Officejet (Network); I have shut down printer and computer; I have reinstalled printer; I have disabled my firewall. I still cannot find a solution for wireless scan.

Hey mardun,
What is the Operating System of the computer you are trying to scan to wirelessly?
Have you tried running the HP Print and Scan Doctor? This is an automated troubleshooting tool for many scanning and printing related issues. If the tool cannot fix the issue, then should at least be able to give an idea as to what is causing your issue.
