As initially stated on

We have  purchased a brand new MFP479fdw

We also have a HP PageWide Pro 477dw MFP & HP Color LaserJet MFP M476dw

Both work ok for 10-15+ years with same setup.

SMPT server= local IP of the server

Sender from a domain contact address for example scanner@localdomain.com
A display name to separate location/floor for example Scanner - 2FL!

Im stating the settings on the mfp479, on the exchange server (an old 2007 Exchange, Relay hub connector for accepting only from the scanner lan IPs) etc

 

1. The server side

2. PRINTER SIDE mfp479 (set manual static IP to your printer to have access to the web gui), enable web services tab, Update latest firmware (i ve applied Firmware Version CLRWTRXXXN002.2413A.00 Built Date 2024-03-25 --- If you dont want auto firmware updates set Alert me when updates are available in TOOLS/PRINTER UPDATES/FIRMWARE UPDATES)

In the network tab (security/management protocol) enable all 3 TLS protocols

SSL/TLS Protocols
TLS 1.0
TLS 1.1
TLS 1.2

And if you plan to use network location share enable all smb as shown below.

Restart your exchange/ printer and test your scan to email from the field shown on the 1st image of the printer side
