Hi,

 

I uninstalled 'HP Smart'.
I have run a check for updates (none available).
I restarted my PC.
I reinstalled 'HP Smart' and the result is still the same ...

I tried to install the full-featured drivers but on the page I can only use HP Smart in the drivers section nothing more

Select software utility and then download the HP Easy start to install the drivers

I installed the drivers as indicated but even when drivers only are selected, several software are installed including HP Scan.
As stated in my initial post, the scan works with HP Scan but it still doesn't work with HP Smart.

In addition, this solution doesn't work when you don't have administrator rights on your PC, like my work PC ...
So we come back to HP Smart again, which is not working properly.

Try updating printer firmware

 

To update the printer's firmware, refer - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

I already have the latest firmware (# = VASPLSPP1N001.2034A.00) and I am a Windows user (see post # 1). Today I ran a check for windows updates and none available (I launched one yesterday, see above).

 

I tried changing from document to image for the scan preset, but got the same error message.

You mean to change document to image for the scan preprocessing? If not, I don't have this function (to scan using image capture)

Image Capture is a MAC software....

All users who have issue are on Windows 10... 😓

 

Personnaly I've a Windows 10 20H2 in french langage. What's your langage ? Because a lot of affected users seems to be french

Download and install HP Scan and Capture and try scanning using the app.
