Trying to set up scan to email and keep getting the same error - "Cannot resolve the SMTP server. Check this setting with your system administrator or Internet Service Provider." I am fairly confident i've got the smtp info in correctly and have tried using the default as well as updating to my info for dns settings. Not sure what else to try.

Ok, so looks like i was set up with an auto-config address which wasn't allowing printer to talk through the router with those setting. Changed out my ip, subnet, and gateway and set dns to 8.8.8.8 for primary and 8.8.4.4 for secondary and it was able to work

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Which email server are you trying to setup?  There are some settings that need to be made in order to setup successfully.

Here's some examples on "How to":

**bleep**

Yahoo

Outlook

Hope that helps!

I'm trying to set it up for **bleep**. I have the smtp set to smtp.**bleep**.com and port 465. I have smpt server authentication checked and have my email as the user ID and my password for the **bleep** account as the smtp password. I have tried network identification dns set as the default which comes up as "not specified" as well as trying 8.8.8.8 as primary and 8.8.4.4 as secondary as well as trying my computers ipv4 for primary and 8.8.8.8 as secondary with no luck. Thats about all I was able to come up with while scanning previous posts. I also tried following the first video you had linked. I tried setting up with two factor turned on as well as turned off and also tried using the code generated as indicated in the video
