Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I am connected directly to my Lenovo Thinkpad laptop and I can print, but I can't copy, scan or fax. The touchpad displays memory card error. It is plugged into a wall outlet and I have done a hard reboot.  Not sure if my Windows 7 is 32 bit or 64 bit.

Hello lr84,

Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you are having an issue with a " No memory card Inserted" error on the printer.

I suggest that we start off by removing the power cable from the back of the printer ( Do NOT power off the unit before removing the power cable)and letting it sit for approximately 2 min.  Reconnect the power cable.  If the unit does not power on by its self, use the power button to turn the printer back on.

Please let me know if this Semi Power reset resolves the issue or not.

I do have additional steps if needed.

Thanks for your time.

Hi,

Thanks for your e-mail. Unfortunately, that  didn't work. I still have the error. By the way, my OS is Windows 7 64 bit.

Hello again lr84,

I see that the Semi Power reset did not resolve the issue.

As I stated earlier, I do have some other steps that we can try.  I am going to send you a private message with some other options.

Thanks once again for your time.

Hi

I have switched my officejet 8600 printer on after about a month, the touchpad says "Please remove memory Card" i have not inserted a memory, and i have done a hard reset, but the problem still persist.

I'm having an issue where I'm getting the error, "Memory Card Error"  "Please remove the memory card" but I don't have a memory card inserted.  I can't print or copy now.  Please let me know how to remove the error message.

Thanks Waterboy71!  I tried your disconnect/sit 2 minutes/reconnect, and so far after 5 minutes no error message.  Hope this bliss continues...
