I have been battling with my printer to stay connected via the wireless connection.  I recently thought it may be the firewall, and had my administrator disable the firewall (which did not help).  I have multiple devices working on my wireless network, and none of them (with the exeption of the HP printer) have any problem staying connected.

 

Here are the issues:

 

  • When I am able to connect the printer via wireless at times it says connected but still will not print.
  • Will connect and then randomly disconnects.  I then have to go back through the connection process.
  • At times when connecting it does not recognize/"see" my router, which is 2-feet away.  I have powered off my entire system and restarted it and the printer still will not recognize the network.

I have done the following, with no releif:

 

  • Shut down my entire system (computer, modem, printer and router) and restarted.
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.
  • Reset the printer to the factory settings (in an effort to start over).
  • Cycled off and restarted my router.
  • Confimred my router had the most recent Firmware.
  • Ran every diagnostic available via HP and all it tells me is that it is not connected (duh!)

My hardware is as follows:

 

HP Probook 4540s, running Windows 10 (64)

Officejet Pro X476dw

Asus AC3100, RT-AC88U Router

 

Please respond with any ideas/suggestions.  I really love this printer for my small business when it is working, but at this point if I can't get this resolved it is going to Goodwill as I can't spend anymore time trying to get it up and running.
