Operating System: macOS 10.13 High Sierra

I loooked at http://hp.care/2gCf5or and I still cannot how to figure out how to scan multiples pages to a single PDF file.

 

I have Acrobat reader installed.    The prompt for what type of file to output shows a light grt PDF which I cannot click on.

 

When I scan the first doc, a web window opens with the scanned file in place.  There is no way to add another page.  I have tried to put the 2nd page in right after, but it doesn't scan or gives me an error message about a jam (which is not present)
