HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g

This is a "resurrection" of the following existing threads about the very same issue here:

and at least one on Reddit:

Given:

  • Product Name: HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g
  • Product Model Number: CM750A
  • Current Firmware Version: CKP1CN1829AR

It is now 2025 and even after four years of the 2011A (CLP1CN2011AR according to the downloaded OJP8600_N911g-n_2011A.exe file) firmware release i'm not able to apply / install it to my printer because the installer provided at https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-officejet-pro-8600-plus-e-all-in-one-printer-series-n911/mod... (OJP8600_N911g-n_2011A.exe) is finding the printer but shows the update as "not applicable".

Things i have tried so far:

  1. Factory reset (also from that "hidden" maintenance menu) of the whole printer
  2. Used USB connection instead of a LAN connection
  3. The "VerifyDownloadID=0" trick to edit the EnterpriseDU.ini which seems to have work for other printers but failed here
  4. Tried to "force" the update of the firmware via a printer share and uploading the .ful file by following https://web.archive.org/web/20241223071317/https://nullsec.us/force-hp-firmware-install/

but failed miserable so far. Any additional hints would be highly appreciated.

Btw. i really can't understand why HP hasn't managed to provide a working firmware update / updater in all these years (and it should be known as one of the linked threads above has 105 replies).

@hp support: I don't need any "restart your computer", "reset printer" or similar hints because these have been already provided in the threads above and none of these hints helped.

Can you please escalate this accordingly to get the firmware update / updater finally fixed so that you don't have firmware updates published which can't be used / installed at all?

Thanks
