I'm running Windows 10 and recently, I decided to update my drivers using Driver Booster. Everything was working fine and I didn't have any previous problems with this laptop or Windows 10. Once I finished updating them, it prompted me to reboot my comupter, and after it started back up, the touch screen no longer worked. Because of this, I'm almost certain its a driver problem. I've looked on other forums and have tried a lot of the suggestions. So far I have
- Restarted my laptop (countless times)
-Disabled and Enabled the "HID- compliant wireless radio controls"
- Unchecked the boxes that say "allow this computer to turn off this device to save power" under the "Universial Serial Bus Controllers"
-Updated the drivers (it just tells me that the best version is already installed)
- I haven't restored the laptop because I'm not entirely sure how to properly do so.
It won't let me roll back the touch screen drivers. When I choose "show hidden devices" extra touch screen drivers appear, but ones like the "HID- compliant touch screen" say "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)
To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer." under the device status.
I have no idea how to reconnect the hardware and I don't understand how it even go unconnected.
I'm so beyond confused and frustrated and don't know what else to do. Please help if you think you might know what to do! Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Hi there @StevieRachelle3,
Thank you for joining in on the HP Support Forums and Welcome! This is a great place to ask questions, find solutions and get help from others in the community! I read your post on the HP Support Forums. I wanted to reach out to you and help! I understand that the Touchscreen on your HP Pavilion 11 x360 Notebook PC has stopped working after you had done an update.
You had mentioned that you used a program called Driver Booster to do driver updates.
Please follow these steps to see if you can enable the Touchscreen:
- Open up the Device Manager
- Find “Human Interface Devices”
- Expand “Human Interface Devices”
- Right-click on “HD-compliant touch screen.”
- Click “Enable" (if available)
- Restart your Notebook PC.
If this does not seem to change anything, please use the System Restore feature and pick a date that was before the issues started.
To use System Restore in Windows 10:
- Go to the Search
- Type Control Panel
- Click Control Panel
- Click System
- Click System Protection
- Click System Protection Tab
- Click System Restore
- Click Next
- Choose "Choose a different Restore point"
- Click Next
- A box that says "Restore your computer to the state it was in before the selected event" will pop up
- Choose the event
- Click Next
- Click Finish
- Click Yes to Confirm
When the System Restore is finished, you will get a pop up that says it has been completed.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating.
You can also use Windows Updates to update drivers or you can go to your HP Pavilion 11 x360 Notebook PC Driver and Software page to update the drivers manually.
Please let me know if I answered your question by clicking the 'Thumbs up' if the troubleshooting steps in this post resolved the issue for you please click the 'Accept as Solution' button. This will allow other's who have the same issue to find the solution also. If you require further assistance, I would be more than happy to continue to help you. Please just re-post with the results of the troubleshooting and your Model Number (How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?).
I hope this helps!
