HP ProBook 440 G7
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a problem which is very similar or same to:
https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Notebook-webcam-displaying-error-mess...

none of the suggestions helped.

On my Windows the laptop's built-in camera does not work (whereas an external camera  does).

Running Windows 'Camera' shows error Error code: 0xA00F4271<MediaCaptureFailedEvent> (0x80070018)

All the attempts of upgrading drivers and upgrading bios do not solve the problem.

The camera seems to be presented in Device Manager as USB Boot with Microsoft driver: 10.0.18362.815 which looks dated: 21.06.2006 yet Windows says it is the most current one. Installing drivers from HP site: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp105501-106000/sp105887.exe also do not help.

The camera is not presented in Imaging Devices, just as my external one does.

My bios firmware is up to date: S71 Ver. 01.06.00 - 08/02/2020

Hi,

the issue has been resolved by support by exchange of the camera module to a new one.
