FG7, running  "C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpiscnapp.exe"  does bring up the HP Scanning program, for me, but it starts at the 2nd screen, i.e., after the selection of the various settings, like resolution. So there's no way to adjust the resolution (it's stuck at 200 dpi), and there's no way to enable OCR. (It also always puts the scanned files in  Documents\MyScans\  (note the lack of a space in "MyScans"), but that's just a nit.)

Wstack's solution starts the HP Scanning program at the first screen, so you don't lose functionality.

If you are so bothered by reading replies, Mbz321, why would you keep returning and repeating yourself?

Also, I find your post with the opinion of merely purchasing another printer to be insulting. I own three HP printers. Two no longer have the HP Solution Center functionality due to the Flash issue, and the other works fine as it is newer. But they are all in different rooms, and I use one in my home office for scanning. While I have attempted installing software suggested by HP, I have not been able to do so. And though I found a workaround to access the scanner and printing functions, I can no longer scan using OCR or access how much ink I have left in my cartridges.

If a product still works perfectly, why would I replace it? My car's computer updates its software via Wi-Fi/USB/or dealer. If the manufacturer suddenly decides to stop updating my specific (and correctly running) two-year-old vehicle, do I purchase a new car as a result? No, I should only make that decision once the vehicle is no longer serviceable or runs. No one should ever point the finger at the customer/consumer in these particular instances. HP can make the HP Solution Center work without Flash; they chose not to when every company knew it was going away. I have indoor cameras for monitoring, which ran via Flash; the manufacturer made the switch well before their self-imposed deadline mention, and the cameras still work. That is how you keep loyal customers. This lack of care and inaction says everything about HP and not us.

I would say you wouldn't go out and buy the same make of car either, in case they do it again

i read your post and found it interesting, and i believe you agree that hp failed miserably in helping their own customers.and i think this is why peoples are frustrated trying to solve an issue that is not theirs to begin with but hp itself which totally ignore the pleas for help .that is why i say that this company needs to be punish and customers  to buy products  from another co.

Oh, believe me, I would never by an HP printer again. Mine is a cheap $30 all in one circa 2008 and the only reason I'm still using it is, it hasn't died, and I am easily able to refill the ink. If it breaks, I'll toss it in an instant and buy a Brother.

It would have been nice if HP released an update, but all these printers that use flash are ancient by now, so HP isn't going to bother...they don't care. My 18 year old car radio doesn't have Bluetooth, should I be mad at them? I'm just tired of seeing repeative posts of people asking for solutions/workarounds when there are plenty right in front of their face.

I'm no longer holding my breathe for a working version of HP Solution Center.

For me, rolling back the date of my Windows PC  is a quick and simple work-around.

So no longer looking at this thread

There are no complete work a rounds that can scan, check ink levels, clean print heads, align print heads, print test pages and a lot of other utilities that Solution Centre could do. All the workarounds are sticking pkasters

I understand your frustration with HP's abuse of their old customers, and Brother makes great laser printers. But beware of Brother's inkjet printers: at least some of them have non-removable printheads which render the printer unfixable if they become badly clogged / dried-out.

So why doesn't HP update the Solution Center software to where it will operate without Flash?

that is what i have been asking for a few weeks now.hp do not care about their customers .and that is a fact .it is up to them to fix this not us
