@MsFlightCrue, I would suggest taking the printhead out, and then cleaning the contacts out on the back of the printhead. Also, I would suggest doing a hard reset with
printer.

moments from buying new printer the forum saved me! when the printer says refer to printer documentation do the following:
press print photo & red eye removal together and release
then in sequence press red eye, then print photo, then red eye again
scroll down or right to find semi reset
press ok
scroll again to find semi reset
press ok
printer should turn off, wait 3 mins or more before turning on, or it may turn back on itself

I am having lots and lots of trouble with my HP Photosmart C5280 All-in-One Printer, Scanner, Copier. "Refer to printer documentation." I have read a lot of reviews and ways to correct this. I have unplugged, waited and replugged, yet no luck. I am wondering why I bother. I followed lions99 suggestion--nothing. This is not good. I would just purchase a machine, but money's tight. What do I do to get this going???????
