Hi @AF5,

I thank you for your super quick response. Aren't you amazing! Fantastic job to isolate the issue perfectly by diagnosing that it happens while copying also. Kudos to you on that score. 🙂 It has been an absolute privilege to share this platform with you. 🙂

It definitely is a hardware issue with the unit. Please contact hp phone support to get it serviced or replaced.

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect

Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number, Case number and phone number appear.

They will be happy to assist you immediately. If the unit is under warranty, the factory warranty should take care of it for you. However, I will send a private message for an NVRAM reset. Please keeping checking your private message.

Trust me I've done all I can to assist you, by keeping your best interest in mind.

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.

Unfortunatelly, it doesn't help. What else I can try? All optical sensors are clear. Error doesn't go away after removing paper and closing rear door.

An update for everyone involved. . . we tried everything that was suggested, on the support site, in the various places we could find online, and also in the PM sent to us by HP, all to no avail.  We tossed the printer in the trash, as it certainly is not worth the shipping and repair costs to have it repaired, especially considering the young age of the printer before this happened.

We did not even have a piece of paper jammed or anything like that, we printed a few sheets one morning, sent another page or two to the printer, found it was in error mode, and things went downhill from there.  Since there are a huge number of people that have had this exact same error,  it is likely a problem with hardware/design from the start.  Clearly HP feels no responsibility in repairing these unless they are under the original warranty, so we all need to take notice of HP's desire to produce a quality product or stand behind what they produce.  I had to beg and beg forever just to get the super-top-secret reset instructions, which did me no good anyway, so I wasted plenty of time and trouble for nothing

I had already sworn off of their laptops after the last laptop I purchased that was an HP product, because it, too, was plagued with issues,  even upon opening the box.  When you go online and find customer after customer who have the exact same issues, it is insulting to call tech support and to be told that it must be some software you installed, even when you've only installed mainstream, popular programs such as Quickbooks, Microsoft Office, etc.  Then, you find out through your OWN research that it's actually that none of the drivers have the newest updates, so you have to spend hours searching updates on your own, since their own software update program doesn't find them for you, and finally you reach a stage where you at least don't "blue-screen" unexpectedly.  I swore never again!

Now, I feel the same with with their printers, "never again".  I've had SO MANY cheap inkjet printers run and run until they were so outdated they didn't even have drivers for the newest versions of windows, but I can't rely on a laser printer to last more than 18 months?  This is just unacceptible and I'll be sure to add my reviews to the negative ones anywhere I can.    Call me an ex-HP customer for sure!
