Hi everyone,
I have bought this printer just before Christmas and works perfectfully well, but however the printer keeps going offline after a while when nobody is using it. The printer itself is being set on Wireless Mode as it can't be placed near an Erthernet socket.
I have been looking around for solutions, but most people say it's something to do with the Firmware that needs updating, messing with a few settings such as IP addresses and etc.
But does anybody can come with up with best solutions to help me to get our printer working again would be much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Ben

Given that you can connect the printer to Ethernet, I would do so -- at least to test whether it makes a difference.
You can use Wireless for your mobile devices.
Ideas
- Some of this perhaps depends on your local network setup and even whether your router is strong enough (new enough, updated enough, configured properly) for the job demanded of it.
No one likes to hear that the router or its configuration is at fault -- I won't defend the statement; this is an opinion based on personal experience and not an invitation to argue about routers. It is not any longer my area of expertise. Smiling.
- In some cases there may be an actual bug in the printer -- I have seen this verified one time; the problem was for a completely different printer, the bug was fixed, and the issue was at least three years ago. (The fact that it happened, though, is proof that it can.)
- Ethernet is better than wireless in maintaining the overall connection.
- Static IP address and Assigned DNS is better than setting "automatic" DHCP.

Sometimes, changing - resetting the Static IP / DNS setup can fix the problem.
For example, set the DNS to Free Google DNS and then back to your ISP setup.
- Wireless channel overlap can be a culprit - try (in the USA) channel 6 or 1.

You are welcome.
If your router supports it, remember to assign the printer IP outside of the DHCP range used for your computer(s) and devices on the network.
For example, if you use IP address range for your computers between 192.168.1.10 through 192.168.1.100, then assign the printer to 192.168.1.101

Hi Dragon-Fur,
I have just been messing about with the wireless settings today, but none of them worked apart from what I have discovered when the IPv6 is set to be on as IPv4 is active. So I think the printer might've been given a confusion over the network, refusing to print stuff and saying it's offline.
So, I have turned off the IPv6 on the printer's control panel and suddendly started printing pages which I left set to print. However the IP configuration I did was on Manual and that works fine.
However, the communication between the printer and the router might've been causing this issue (but wireless seems to be okay, for a odd reason).
So now, I am just going to leave the printer to idle for hour or two and see if would print again. I will do the same again, from tomorrow morning with being left on all night. Testing purposes!!! 🙂
Many thanks,
Ben

If you are not using IPv6 (and you are not sharing the printer on the network), it is fine to leave IPv6 off.
If I have anything else to offer, I will post back.

Hi again Dragon-Fur,
Good information, I will make this post as solution as I have to configre the printer's port settings to it's chosen IP of the printer, then it works! This is also known as TCP IP port. This was on page 10 and 11 of your helpful word document.
I am going to give you 1 reputation for correct and useful information, and the problem has solved! Well done!
Many thanks,
Ben
