Double sided printing was "fixed" over the phone with an HP technician  while printer was still under warranty.  But after installing a new HP black ink cartridge, am having the same issues and printer is out of warranty.  Will print the first page, then only half of the backside.  Error window then appears.  Tried setting the new port as described in your post with the printer's IP address, but then the window said that the printer was offline.  Not sure how to remedy that.  Wireless connection was good.  Any suggestions?  Thanks

Hello, I followed the instructions and found the "Ports" tab and clicked on it.  There is already a check mark next to my printer name on the list.  However, the "Add Port" button is grayed out.  Where do I go from here?

Hi, I use Windows 8 with a Classic Shell rendering the desktop the same as win 7.  The problem occurs whenever I change the ink cartridge- the printer will work fine until I replace the cartridge- then when I try to print double sided, the first side prints and the second prints halfway and then stops.  Nothing else has changed and the problem does not occur until I change the cartridge.  Also cannot print multiple pages.  The last time this ocurred, the printer was under warranty and the HP help desk had me reinstall the drivers.  I tried that and my drivers are up to date.  I tried changing the port and could not get the printer back on line- it is wireless.  Will just have to live with the problem.

Hi Gretchen61,

The best guide for you to follow for this is 'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the Printer Will Not Print: Windows 8, as well as Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection.

Also, I would recommend using genuine HP cartridges.

Hope this is helpful! :generic:
