My printer has been functioning ok.
I tried to do a scan from the scanner to the computer and got some messages as to why the scan wasn't working.
I then started getting a message "x Printer Failure" "There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn Printer off then turn it on. If problem persists, contact HP"
I changed the black ink cartridge and turned the printer off and on a number of times but now always get the same message.
Is there anything I can do?

I got this error message on my HP 6700 and there were no paper jams. I noticed that the ribbon that the ink cartridges ride on was very dirty from the ink. I cleaned with alcohol and cotton swabs and the printer now works great. There was a large build up of ink on it that was keeping the ink cartridge from positioning correctly.
