Hello,

since this morning our HP Officejet pro 9022e (purchased 6 months ago) is showing a blue screen on the internal display and shows the error code: 83C0000B

I followed recommendations below to drain the power completely, multiple times without success:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printing-Errors-or-Lights-Stuck-Print-Jobs/HP-9020e-error-code-83C0000...

In terms of doing a semi-factory reset I only find instructions for doing that via the build in display menu, which does not work as it is stuck on the blue screen.

Please provide instructions on how to fix this or how to perform the semi factory reset.

thanks!

Hi @patprint01

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand that you are getting printer errors, I am glad to assist you today.

I would suggest you please try these steps

We have to perform an  Reset to unlock the features of the printer/Reset the password.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile.

Please perform these steps and Feel free to reply to your public post for any further assistance.

I have the same error and have tried removing plug etc. Can someone advise how I reset my printer ?

I have exactly the same error message, the blue network led is off.

My printer is about 7 months old.

I have the same issue with the faulty firmware update which happened auromatically without my doing  at 05-08-2023. How can a company like HP trigger automatically such an update which now has probably broken hundreds of OfficeJet printers. Other companies don't do such kind of updates without control and acceptance of the user. As a SW engineer  working with embedded systems I know very well what it means the update failed or was incomplete for whatever reason. You can never solve this by a simple password reset! Maybe there is an option to get back to the previous firmware version, but it could also be difficult as it means a downgrade. Furthermore there must be an oprion to bring other firmware into the device, maybe via an USB stick because in the current status other coms are not working. In some older posts I have also read that it was not possible to do this kind of reset and finally the printer has to be replaced. Who will take the costs and the efforts for this on HP side?
