Glad to have you back.
Where I'm confused is would the Apple Router add another network to set up, or would the Apple Router enhance the signal to the printers?
- I don't think the Apple router will add another network to set up. The router could enhance the signal though.
Hope this helps. Cheers! 🙂

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One Printer. I read that in order to print a job, you have to unplug and replug the printer to print. Not to worry, I'll do my best to assist you with this case.
To assist you better, I would like to know the following information:
- Is the printer connected to a wireless network?
- Without unplugging, if you try to print then does it give an error message?
Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
- Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
- Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
- The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
- Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.
If the issue persists then on your Windows computer please perform the steps as described in detail in this HP document. These steps help in fixing frequent network disconnection issues with the printer.
Once the steps are completed, you may reset the printing system on your Mac computer: http://hp.care/2nAPYVU
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Keep me posted. Cheers! 🙂

Hi MKazi,
I tried different option on my HP Photosmart C7280 Printer today. I have 2 Dell Printers along with my HP printer. I also have 2 Mac computers. One a Mac Desktop with Parallels 13 for Windows 10. I was able to print on the Mac Desktop today (Mac side)using the HP Printer W/O having to unplug it.I haven't tried the Windows 10 side as yet. I also just tried printing on my Mac Pro laptop. It wouldn't print until I turned the printer off and on again, but at least I didn't have to unplug it. When using my Windows 7 computer, I tried looking for updates. Sometimes I receive an update notice to update my HP Printer from HP over the last year, and every time I try to update my HP printer, it fails. I was trying to find it today to write it down with no luck. All I remember is it starts with 3.1 (I think). In the meantime I tried the set up printing wizard, and it set up something called Aficio BP20 Series PCL6 Hp C7280 Driver. After it was installed, it replaced the Wireless connection to HP Photosmart C7280. When I tried to print a test page from my Windows 7 Gateway computer, all it did was continually spit out blank pages on my HP Photosmart C7280 Printer. I reset my wireless HP Photosmart Printer to HP C7280, and it works again. Not sure what Aficio was, but it did nothing. I just tried one of my Dell printers on my Mac Book Pro, and again I had to turn the power off and back on to get it o print. At least now it seems I don't have to unplug the printers, it seems. The reason I also brought up the Dell Printers is I have had contact with Apple forums about this issue. At least with my 2 Dell Printers they are not providing Driver updates for the older printers when Apple changes it's Operating systems. He suggested purchasing an Apple Router 1408, I think which may go around this problem.I also plan to call Apple to verify. I am confused as I purchased an ARRIS modem instead of renting one from Comcast. I had the same problem with the Comcast Modem. Where I'm confused is would the Apple Router add another network to set up, or would the Apple Router enhance the signal to the printers?
I know I threw a lot at you, but this is what I have discovered after two weeks of experimentation.

Hi Barachiel
Unfortunately the printing problems with my HP Photosmart C7280 Printer resurfaced again. Even unplugging the printer won't enable it to print wirelessly on my Window 7 Desktop. I ran the HP scan doctor several times to no avail. It did print on my Mac Desk top after unplugging and replugging it back in, but not on my Windows 7 Desktop. I have the latest driver installed on my Windows Desktop. I did order an Apple Router which I'm hoping will boost the Wi Fi signal. Another issue I have had for a long time is sometimes I receive a prompt from HP for an update. I didn't write it down, but it had failed several times. I think the update starts with 3.1. Maybe you may know what the update is, but not sure if it wouls help. Please advise any possible solutions.
Thanks,
Tom

Hi @Bigfrog ,
Thank you for replying with this detailed response 😉
I appreciate your time and efforts.
I would recommend to wait for the new router, and once it is installed, I believe even the update might go through. I suspect all these issues are because of the poor Wifi signal connectivity.
Let me know if it works fine once the router is on. 🙂
Keep me posted. 😉
