I can't get HP support to even look at my problem.
Their support web page asks for the serial # of my product. This is not a problem. It is (removed content).
THEN it asks for a model number. Big problem. It says that the model number will be located on a sticker somewhere on the product. WRONG!!!!! It looks for a 7-character code, and there are no such codes on the stickers on the unit. The best I can get is something called an FRU # (a term that Lenovo likes to use for its parts) on a sticker on the back of the unit. This is A9T80-54001.
So HP can't even be bothered to set up their products to be reasonably easily supported.
Can someone out there help me figure out what the heck they're asking for and how to find it.
I have the following problem with the unit:
Printer hangs. Not sure if this is relevant, but I used to sometimes get a hex code error when powering on the all-in-one. This was remedied by unplugging and restarting. Just bought new ink cartridges (expensive nazi gotcha game) but it never got through the alignment. It printed an alignment form and then hung when I put it in the scanner. Now it hangs when I try to power it on, giving message "printing alignment form." "Cancel" button does not clear message. This is particularly irksome w/new ink freshly bought and payed their gouge price for. It vexes me to no end that I should have to pay so much good money just to find that the stuff they sold me is useless.
As I said, I TRIED to contact support about this, but HP can't even be bothered to put the numbers they ask for on the product where I can tell how to get at them, so I can't even go through their website. This only adds to my frustration.
Can someone help?

Thank you for your prompt and courteous reply.
I tried to follow the instrucyions, but there was no change in the printer's behavior and I was unable to check the warranty for reasons discussed in my riginal post.
Looks like this thing needs servicing. Any idea how to get the model number?
