I don't have a problem with scan or print when the printer is (connected) wirelessly. It's only after connection loss. Obviously it can't communicate then. I don't think the firewall is the culprit as it is random. Seem to me if the firewall was blocking it would be a problem constantly. I mean I would never be able to print, scan or have any communication. So I don't believe that stopping my anti-virus program in the start-up will solve my issue. Do you agree?

Plus, I can't really tell, as right now, and for some time now. I have had a solid connection. So print, and scan work perfectly.

I might add here..Yesterday I did go over some suggestions listed in a sticky posted in this forum about this very thing. I made some changes to my router suggested.

1. I changed the channel from 1 to 11.

2. I added the MAC address of the printer to the permitted devices for the router as that function was enabled.

Just as I finished typing this I look over and see the connection light blinking! signal gone! Now..back!

Well, it seems COMODO is self protecting ! Soon as I re-boot... after disabling it in start..it's back!

If you have a backup copy of Comodo, you may uninstall it and then restart PC and then try scanning.

If you dont have a copy of it, kindly check if there is any option in itto disable it for an hour or so. If you are able to disable it, then Power off the printer and wait for 30 seconds and then power it on and then try scanning.

Well this is different. I can not scan to computer with COMODO firewall disabled. I have a connection (indicated by solid blue light) on printer. Also when I touch the wireless icon on printers screen it displays IP address. But when I try to scan to computer the printers screen reads; No computer found! It does however print.

My Printer software got corrupted somehow. I had to re-install it. when I would try and access the software by the icon I have pinned to my taskbar it would open the "install a new printer" window. That BTW I could not complete as after entering the correct IP address it could not find it!...dead end. after software install I now have the scanner window showing my computer upon me selecting "scan to computer" Also the software for the printer now opens correctly. This all took place just this morning as I had scanned a doc. to "my documents" earlier!

What I know about comodo is that it also cleans the computer registry.

If one install the printer software on pc with comodo, when the pc restarts the comodo cleans up the changes in computer registry thinking it as a threat.

Let me know the current status. Are you able to print ?
Are you able to open printer assistant when clicked on printer icon.?

COMODO firewall not the culprit. This is comodo (printer without a connection).
