The control panel has a visual display which is touch screen. Although I can still use the ? and arrow left and right keys, the touch screen for the visual display (such as viewing toner status) is not working.

Can you provide any suggestions how I can resolve this issue please ?

Hi@Chris_Brown,

Thanks for the response.

Then it’s a hardware issue (Touchscreen).

I request you to get in touch with Phone support using the link below.

You will not be able to use the full feature of the printer since the drivers are not present for it.

Hope the information shared will help you. Please share for more.

Hi@Chris_Brown,

Thanks for stopping by HP Support Forums.

I came across your post and would like to help.

Keys on the printer display not working. Is that, correct?

I am able to find a suitable solution for the issue and am sharing the steps below.

I request you to try the steps and check if that works.

  • Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
  • Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  • Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  • The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
  • Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

Hope the solution answers your query. Feel free to reply back for more.

I tried as suggested but the problem persists.

The number keypad 1-9 and the screen which displays Copy, Fax, Scan and Apps are displayed but are not registering any selection when the keypad is touched.

Any further suggestions please ?
