I have a HP OfficeJet Pro 9020e that has displayed the error code 83C0000B for several days. I've unplugged and restarted with no success. Investigations seem to indicate this fault was caused by a HP firmware update, if so HP must be obliged to fix the issue or replace the printer regardless of warranty.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9020e printer displaying the error code 83C0000B. This error code has been reported by other users as well and it seems to be related to a firmware update ³.
One solution that has been suggested by HP support is to perform a power drain ¹. Here are the steps:
1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
2. Remove USB cable, if present.
3. Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
4. Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
5. Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
If this doesn't work, you can try performing a Semi-Full reset. However, these instructions are specific to your printer model and performing them on a different printer may cause issues. You can contact HP support for further assistance with this ¹.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi Adel,
I'm still unable to resolve this issue.
I cannot perform the Semi-Full Reset as the screen on the printer is blue with the error code on it so I can do the required steps.
HP Smart cannot connect to the printer.
I have the printers IP address but when I try to access it a username/password is required which I do not have.
I would appreciate detailed instructions on how to roll-back the firmware upgrade that HP applied to my printer,
Rob

Hi Adel,
This solution will not work as the printer is not visible on my LAN. Since this error code appeared after the HP firmware update I can do absolutely nothing with my computer, I cannot even turn it off using the power button.
I don't know how HP intend to fix this issue but I have checked with Consumer Protection (Australia) and I have grounds to register a complaint even though my official warranty expired 2 months ago, as it is reasonable to expect that a printer of this price and brand would last longer than 12 months, especially as it appears the fault was introduced by HP itself. It needs to be fixed or replaced.

I was trying to find a previous firmware but I couldn't find any resources that I could trust to send it to you you could however try to install this different update
please keep in mind that it's it's only a basic driver and even though I'm not affiliated with HP in anyway and I do not do that it will work but that is what I will do if I was you
