Cyan Cartridge: Ink Cartridge Failure

After replacing a depleted cartridge the printer is showing a cartridge failure and is recomending cartrdige replacement. I replaced with yet a second new cartridge yet the printer is still showing failure. The odd part is that if any of the other cartridges are removed, the initial one is accepted by the printer.

After a long and hard serch of support, I have found that some printers with this latest firmware updates have locked out aftermarket ink cartridges and ink refills. I have tried refilling an original cartridge and after about 50 percent usage on the refill, a new error of " This printer does not support constant ink systems or refilled cartridges, replace cartridge." This has happened on my 8740, 8720 printers. I have contacted support and all they could offer me was 15% off new cartridges. This issue has already been lost in court over several models of printers and they seem to not even care. HP has lost all my business due to this so called security update. I will not buy another Printer from HP nor another PC from them either due to this issue. I have since bought an Epson ET-4750 with extended ink tanks. These printers dont even check what type of ink is put in them and are so much more cost effective than the HP printers now. It was a big expense for us at $800 dollars total for both printers, but we've already saved that in ink usage due to the amount of pages we print every month for contracts.

I have the same problem with my Deskjet Ink Advantage 4535 I brought from south america to Europe with 6 original replace cartridges with number 664 - F6V31A, which all worked fine for one year. Now the last cartridge is NOT recognized by the printer. I followed all HP suggestions with no luck.

I then contacted HP Europe who gave me the corrispondent european number of cartridge for my printer: the number 652 - F6V25A but the printer still doesn't like "the installed cartridge is not for this printer"

Why is it so difficult to get the right cartridge, I cannot get the 664 in Europe?

Why so many different numbers for the same printer?

Why does HP Assistant don't know that there is no compatibility between cartridges?

Is firmware definitly blocking my printer?

How can I have help to solve my problem?

Thank you if someone can help

First of all thank you very much for your prompt reply!

I did contact European HP Support again, this time they were very helpful.

The solution for my problem is the 'regionalization' of my printer to the European Region. In this way I will be able to use European cartridges with no problem (I hope so).
The support did a remote control with my PC in order to do the 'regionalization' of my printer.
But seeing that I still had a working full color cartridge, the HP assistant suggested me to first finish using this cartridge before the regionalization, which would automatically disable it. So the assistant configured my printer to use only one installed cartridge (which I didn't know it was possible) and kindly gave me all information how to contact HP Support again (when the cartridge finishes) for the final regionalization of my printer.
So the problem is partially solved. Thanks to HP Support. I'll be back after regionalization.
