My OfficeJet 3830 stopped connecting to my computer last month. At that time, I reset the router and it was able to print. It has now stopped working again. I have reset the router, the printer, and have been attempted to just reinstall it all together. The printer itself is fully connected to our wifi. Yet, it remains undetected by the computer. I noticed that my MAC address on the printer does not match the address on my MAC and am wondering if that could be the issue. How do I fix this?

Thank you. I finally got it working again...and it was not via any of the suggestions from support...which is a bit annoying. I set up ePrint again, which was not working, but it finally showed what was not working on printed report.

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I see from the post that you are having issues connecting your HP OfficeJet printer to the network. Don't worry we'll work together to help you find a solution.
Splendid effort and fabulous description of the issue before posting. Kudos to you on that score. You are a valued HP customer and it is paramount to assist you here. I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Have you recently made any changes on the printer before the issue started?
Have you tried to remove the printer from the queue and add it as an Airprint?
Let's start off by performing a hard reset on the printer, router, computer and other devices which are on the same network.
Turn off all the devices connected on your network including the PC, Smartphones, printer, modem (if present) and router. Make sure all the devices in the network are turned off / unplugged.
Wait for 2-3 minutes.
Now turn on the modem if present. Wait till all the lights are steady and idle.
Then turn on the router. Again wait for a couple of minutes so that the lights are all steady.
Then turn on the printer and other devices.
Now, perform the steps below to try and reconnect your printer to the network. The Wireless Setup Wizard provides an easy way to set up and manage the wireless connection to your printer.
If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to remove the printer from the queue and add it as a Airprint.
Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
Figure : Example of the Printers & Scanners window
Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, and then do one of the following steps.
If your printer is listed, remove and re-add the printer to confirm it is set up for AirPrint. Click the printer name, click the minus sign
to delete the printer, click the plus sign
, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name and then continue to the next step.
If your printer is not listed, click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer, and then continue to the next step.
If your printer is not listed in the Add Printer or Scanner window, go to the Frequently asked questions in this document to resolve connection issues, try to add the printer again, and then continue to the next step.
Confirm AirPrint or Secure AirPrint displays in the Use or Print Using menu, and then click Add.

Open a document or photo, click File, and then click Print.
If the issue persists, Here's a related HP Forums post which seems to have helped others: Click here
Note: Once you assign the static IP address, please go ahead and add the printer as an Airprint and then check.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Eagerly waiting for your response!
I hope you have a good day ahead,
And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.

Hello,
I have reset the router mutiple times. It does not impact the printer. It is still connected to the wifi but not printing.
I was able to add the printer again- I attempted to add as AirPrint but used the printers IP address to add it. It said there was an error with the connection again, but still allowed me to add it. It is still NOT printing and sitting in idle mode on my computer as it is not connecting to the computer to know what to print.
Please help. I really don't want to search through the forums again, I keep going in circles trying to figure this out.

Thanks for the update,
As I see you have already tried to reset the router multiple times and nothing has helped to resolve your concern. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.
Is the printer connected to the network. Is the Wireless light blinking or is it steady blue? Have you tried to connect the Printer using USB and check if that works
If the light is flashing, then the printer is not connected to the network. Go to Setup - Network - Wireless setup wizard to connect the printer to the network. Here are the Instructions.
To restore network settings to default settings:
1. From the Home screen, touch (Wireless), and then touch Settings.
2. Touch Restore Network Settings.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Run the Wireless setup wizard:
To connect the printer
1. From the Home screen on the printer control panel, touch (Wireless).
2. Touch Settings.
3. Touch Wireless Setup Wizard or Wi-Fi Protected Setup.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
To check if the printer is connected to the network, please print the network configuration page:
Check the network configuration or print the wireless test report to assist in diagnosing network connection
issues.
1. From the Home screen, touch (Wireless) and then touch Settings.
2. Touch Print Reports. and then touch Network &configuration Page or Wireless Test Report.
Once the printer is connected the network: I would suggest you try to add the printer as a Airprint.

If the issue persists, I would suggest you try these steps here:
Once the printer is connected to the network, then assign a static IP to the printer:
- Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to get the IP address.
- Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
- Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.
- Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)
- Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.
- Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)
Let me know if those steps worked for you.
If they did, that’s awesome!

Good Luck.

Literally, nothing is working. This is still not resolved. I am going to have to try calling again tomorrow.
The IP address does not load, the MAC address listed for my computer is different than the one on my actual computer. Is there a way to completely reset the whole printer- like a factory reset as if it was fresh out of the box? I have NEVER had an issue like this before.
