I have a 2008 Dell laptop with Windows XP. We just purchased an HP Office Jet Pro printer and it is now installed and I have connected it to our internet (using my cell phone). Everything works great from that end. However, when I tried to connect the printer to my laptop, i received the message from the HP site stating, "We don’t support this operating system."
I have tried to install it with a USB cable and the "Printer Wizard" has been searching for a few hours now to find the printer to install it. This leads me to believe that I can't do it. I have done a bit of searching for my OS and I have not founding anything to tell me whether it will work or not.
If anyone has any information, one way or the other, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, in advance, for your time and support!!
(Yes, I do know that I need a newer computer. For now, this is what I have to work with. Thanks!)

Hi @vcschef ,
Welcome to the HP Support-Community.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to connect your new OfficeJet Pro to your computer if you use Windows XP. ☹️
See also the minimum system requirements:
"Windows 10,8, 7: 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor, 2 GB available hard disk space, CD-ROM/DVD drive or Internet connection, USB port, Internet Explorer"
Best,
Nils_K
