My HP ENVY 5640 series printer randomly stopped working. It was out of ink, I replaced it, and then I started getting a message saying "Remove and Reinstall the indicated ink cartridge." I did that, nothing happened. I replaced it with two brand new ink cartridges, one after the other, and it still didn't work, so a total of three new ink cartridges didn't work. It snaps into place the same way I always have. I've tried restarting it, and I've checked to make sure the software is up to date. What is going on?

Make sure you have tried the steps mentioned in this document - HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge. If the error persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware issue with the printer as you have already used 2 new ink cartridges.
Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
