I've tried resetting the printer by disconnecting power and waiting 60 seconds, but the printer goes through a restart attempt but crashes (after the cartridges move a little) with error code 0XC4EB8004 HW_MICCI2_V12.
Have you any help with what I can try now ? Thanks

@RJL15041912, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The 0XC4EB8004 HW_MICCI2_V12 error on the HP Smart Tank Plus 570 usually indicates a hardware failure, often related to the ink system, printhead, or internal electronics. Here are some steps to try:
Power Reset (Deep Reset)
Since you've already done a basic power reset, try a deeper reset:
>Turn off the printer.
>Disconnect the power cable from both the wall and printer.
>Remove all cartridges.
>Hold the Power button for 30 seconds.
>Plug the printer directly into the wall (avoid surge protectors).
>Turn it on without reinstalling the cartridges yet.
>If it starts without the error, reinstall the cartridges one by one.
Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions
>Open the ink access door and remove the cartridges.
>Inspect the printhead area and carriage path for any stuck paper, debris, or ink spills.
>Move the carriage gently left and right to check if it moves freely.
>If you see ink buildup, use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean it.
Clean the Encoder Strip
>The encoder strip is a clear plastic strip behind the carriage. If dirty, it can cause errors:
>Turn off the printer.
>Locate the clear strip behind the printhead carriage.
>Gently wipe it with a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with filtered water.
>Let it dry before turning the printer back on.
Reseat the Printhead
>If your printer has a removable printhead:
>Open the ink door.
>Lift the printhead latch and remove the printhead.
>Clean the contacts with a lint-free cloth.
>Reinstall the printhead, close the latch, and restart the printer.
Update Firmware (If Possible)
>If the printer works intermittently before showing the error:
>Download and install the latest firmware from HP’s website:
HP Support - Software & Drivers
Try a Semi-Full Reset (Factory Reset)
>Press and hold the Power button.
>While holding, press the Cancel button 5 times, then Resume button 2 times.
>Release all buttons and wait for the reset process.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
