I can't believe they are forcing everyone to pay for HP toner at 3-4x the cost after we've had this for years.   We will be buying a new printer today and will NEVER buy HP again

I'm glad I kept my original HP cartridges and just swapped the chips out as seen as a fix by someone else and it works! will just have to keep swapping out, but at least not having to pay a fortune for cartridges. Maybe if HP reduced their price we wouldnt have to buy the other products

Can you post how to do that please?  I have 3 after market ones I'd like to use if possible.  TIA

My HP printer leaves my house today. Last one I will ever purchase.

This is absolute extorsion on the part of HP.  I have been a very loyal customer of HP for around 15 years. I currently have 2 desktops, 2 laptops and a printer that is the equivalent of an anchor due to the update HP pushed out.  As an IT professional, friends and family often reach out to me for advise on computers and printers but I will never buy or recommend another HP product.  If the HP supplies were not so overpriced, I would purchase them but when they are 4-5 times more, that is ridiculous.

@Joehil, @Tripodtodd, @cronelinda, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Let us reset the printer to its factory settings and check if that helps.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

This is not cool. Can I please be told how to reset the printer so my 3rd party toners work again. I need this printer working for work related items and noe it updates and I'm stuck without a printer. Very very uncool

After many calls and escalating the issue I got no where. I was told by every representative that the update does not allow for any roll backs. I fortunately still had a 4 year warranty on it and returned it.

Thank you for the instructions....I will respond once I am able to attempt the reset
