Hello Bob,
I was able to find the solution to my previous post by wording my search a little differently and finding a post from you last year. It was a simple fix. New problem - I am trying to print off the Steps to Lead Safe Renovation, Repair and Painting from www.epa.gov/lead/pubs/steps.pdf. When I try to print it comes out way too small and only fills about 1/4 of the page. I have tried different settings, etc. and still can't get it to print properly for booklet layout. I can get it to print if I just print duplex and full size on 8 1/2 x 11 without using the booklet layout. I was hoping to be able to save on paper as I have alot of copies to print. Using HP7310 All in one, Windows 7 OS, new install, not an upgrade from Vista. Previous OS XP. I have been to HP's site and downloaded current drivers, etc. Also tried uninstalling printer and reinstalling. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Which version of Adobe Reader are you using? In my 9.3.4 that file prints the correct size but the back side is upside down on my Officejet 7410 (same drivers) in Windows 7.... 😞

The version 14 of the Officejet Pro L7780 driver (8/26/2010) still did not fix the problem with duplex printing from Word2010. After going to FILE>>Print and selecting to print duplex flip on long side only the last page of a 3 page document prints. If I go to FILE>>Pirnt and click on the printer properties link and select duplex printing it prints correctly.

Hi. I just switched to a new vista 64 bit computer. In the process I lost the ability to automatically print on both sides of the paper. I found the information quickly and made the change. It worked. thank you. (My biggest problem was sending this note. I had to change notes and invent a new password. then I had to find this page again. I persevered and consequently, I now able to say "Thank you." Your help is very much appreciated.
I anticipate that my next search will involve a re-registration with new name and password as I will forget what password I used. Awkward but doable.

Vista/Photosmart C6250 All-In-One. Have duplexed many a booklet times using this set-up. However, now when I try to duplex, pages print in very small fonts with four pages printing on each side of an 8x 10 sheet.
I was able to print the "troubleshooting Guide -HP Support Forum in duplex form, but it also printed in very small font.

What program are you using to print the booklet? If it was Adobe reader did you apply a recent update? What print settings are you using?

I have the HP Pro 8500 printer and about half the time when I attempt duplex printing, only half the page prints. Then the HP Solution center message pops up to tell me it didn't print and then it will start all over. This is using up a LOT of paper and ink. Help!

What operating system? How is the printer connected - USB, wired LAN, Wireless LAN? Do you have issues printing single-sided? This sounds like a communications issue.

Win 7 Home Premium. USB connection. It has happened a couple of times recently with single printing but a LOT with duplex. I've just updated to Win 7 but it was doing it before with Vista Home Premium. Thanks, Carol

It would appear you have an issue other than the duplexer. Are there any error messages on the printer front panel? I would suggest you start a new thread with a title like "Officejet 8500 stops in mid page when printing with Vista / Windows 7" and provide plenty of details of the issue, including which version of the Officejet 8500 you have. (There are seven versions listed here.) Please also mention whether you have a 32 bit or 64 bit version of the operating system as well as which version of the driver and printer firmware you have.
To check the version of your current printer firmware, use either one of the following options:
Toolbox
- Go to Solution Centre; select HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Series
- Click on Settings > Printer Toolbox
- On the Information tab, click Hardware information
- The current firmware version will appear in the Hardware information dialog box
Printing a Self Test Diagnostic Page
- Press Setup, select Print Report, select Self-Test Report, and then press OK.
- The Self Test Diagnostic Page will be printed.
- The current firmware revision will appear on the printed Self Test Diagnostic Page
