Hi @raytmercer,
Yes, I can help you change your Wireless Direct password from its default value. Simply open an internet browser and enter 192.168.223.1 in the address bar. This will open the printers Embedded Web Server (EWS). In the EWS, click on Network, then on the left, under Wireless Direct Printing, choose Status. In the Status section, click on Edit Settings. You will now see the option to choose on with security and the section to customize the password.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, and/or if you require further assistance. Thanks.

I may have been a little premature is saying that your advice solved my issue.
When I try to access that IP address (192.168.223.1), it fails. The 5470 has an ethernet connection, should this have an affect/ Do I have to access the webserver from a wireless device?

This will not work for me. I can only "generate" a new passcode. It will not let me put a personal number in. When I try, it keeps disconnecting me and the old number remains. It is stupid that the printer menu on the builtin screen nor the software that is installed does not allow you to do this. Why would you wirelessly connect to a printer with a password and then try to change it knowing that the password you logged into the printer with is now obsolete.

For storing personal number as password for wifi direct first you have to change the connection mode to manual from automatic. then select the check box stating " hide the password ........................................" just below the password box then click aply.

I get an "invalid entry" error regardless of what I enter into the password field. ditto for trying to change the default wi-fi direct name and also for trying to turn Automatic back on after setting it to manual.
