We have Windows 10 64-bit with the 8210 connected via USB. I have tried the Universal PCL 6, switching print processor to "hpzpplhn" with the default data type "RAW", and many clean uninstall/re-install/printer resets. None of that worked for more than a business day so I tried switching the machine to wired ethernet and that seems to be working,
Based on my experiences and the responses in this forum (including the tech who switched to the driver for his previous printer) I can only conclude that the current driver set + USB = this problem.
I believe the ball is in HP's court. We will not purchase this model until we have a new driver set from HP (and we test to verify that this time it works via USB).
What I see today 09/20/2017 is Driver Version 38.6, released Dec 02, 2016. With these issues persisting in the wild, that means no more 8210 purchases for my enterprise.

Thank you - we moved to wired ethernet and it worked. I was about to return the printer. At least we can make this one work for now. We won't order more until this is resolved but your suggestion got our user moving forward again.

Hmm as i posted about 2 weeks ago I started testing with the Universal pcl 6 driver with sevral users having issues and so far so good. Just did another install today using the supplied driver an it did not work (jobs stuck in queue). Tech then uninstalled and reistalled using PCL 6 universal print driver and printer started working.

Just had a lengthy discussion with HP business support on this issue.
I installed this printer 2 weeks ago and it worked fine. The last few days we have seen this print que issue.
The support tech suggested I contact Microsoft because the Print Spooler is a Windows item.
My problem occurs when I print from UPS Woldship software. everything else sees to make it through.
I went over the fact that the other printers I have redirected the print jobs to on the network are using the same Windows spoolers without issue. This printer is hooked up to a Windows 10 Dell desktop via USB cable.
The fact that it worked when I installed it and it is doing this now seem to fall on deaf ears.
The Laserjet Printer that was on there before didnt have any issues with Windows print spooler.
Just fired up mad because I new this was going to happen. Long discussion no fix.

I had a chance with another 8210 (unfortunately we have a few floating around) on a newly upgraded Win10 system. This time I went straight for the Universal Print Drivers. That did work over USB. The drivers online are still v38.6 from Dec 2, 2016. I would strongly recommend NOT buying this model for use with Win10. Additionally, we have multiple 8600 series here and their driver set is very old and appears to reference Win8.1 in a couple of installation dialogs. This is disheartening.

Removed Officejet Pro 8216 and installed the previous printer. Hp Laserjet 2600n.
All applications work fine.
No print que issues.
Yep! It must be a Windows 10 printer spooler issue!
Note: that was sarcasm.

A bench tech with my school district has found what may be a fix for this issue. A firmware update was released in March, 2017. Each of the printers he has updated has been working without further problem. You might try this option.

Yesterday i has HP remote session with a support person, he updated the firmware and didn't solved it. His solution was change the driver, in the printer's propierty changed by officejet 8100 generic, it worked. I don't think that be a valid solution for a HP support.
