Thanks for the detailed reply.  Unfortunately changing the print processor did not work for me.  I had 2 other processors available: hpzppwn7 and hpzppw71, but neither one of them made any difference when selected.  I checked my Win 7 laptop (which does not have the issue with the 8210) and the print processor was set to winprint.

This is really irritating.  If I could charge HP for the time I have wasted on this so far I could buy a new laptop and printer.

Sorry I haven't checked in for a while, I've been struggling with this issue since December and can only devote time when all other fires are put out.

I did just do the following and successfully printed out a 3 page document 5 times in a row:

Printer Properties, Advanced, Driver Dropdown box

In our case these Officejet 8210's were replacing Deskjet 6940's.  On a whim I changed the driver to the old printer and it's worked every time.

Will keep an eye on this and report back, but so far so good.

An update to what I thought was a fix, it was only temporary.   We started have items stuck in queue again.

I also had problems with stuck in queue after printing with a HP OfficeJet Pro 8710. I found this solution and it has worked so far - http://www.acarte.com/2017/03/23/second-print-job-fails-on-hp-printer/

Basically I went to Printer Properties -> Advanced tab -> Print Processor
Changed from "winprint" to "hpcpp6de".  The article said to change to "hpzpplhn" but I did not have that choice. See what you have and try different "hp******" choices listed there to see if it will work for you.

David, the posters in this thread have already displayed quite thoroughly that we are beyond power strips...please pass this on to someone that is willing to put in some effort to get this USB Driver issue resolved.

Thank you for your response!

Clearly "David" never read through the entire thread. Power strips, indeed! What an insult! Too many "kudos" offered and not enough substantive information! Pitiful "support" from HP.....

I had no problem with the printer until I got a new laptop with Windows 10. The problem was periodic but seemed to occur at least once each day. I went through the steps to delete the job, but the problem would still reoccur. I did find a solution in this forum - I changed the print driver from the HP 8210 driver. I changed the driver to HP Universal Printing PCL 6. Since I made this change, I have not had a problem with any print jobs for over a week.

Have multiple Officejet 8210's installed and having the same issue with jobs getting stuck in the queue.  Al system are running updated win 10 64bit OS.  Has anyone found a stable sollution for this problem.

Thought I had it fixed after getting help through HP tech support chat session, but the problem is back and persistent.  Very annoying!

Testing with Universal PCL6 driver now.  I agree very annoying for users and techs!!
