Touchscreen has a deadzone. See photo below.
Will not respond to pressure. Have re-connected, re-booted, turned on/off via power cord, etc. No change. Cannot use touchscreen to update firmware because "OK" button on screen does not respond to touch/pressure.
Can't send a fax from the touchscreen (but it will receive).
Since its a partial failure, I'm inclined to think the touchscreen needs to be replaced.
If no fix for the touchscreen, is there a work-around where I can use the computer it is connected to (via usb) to send a fax?
Computer is running XP pro.

You can use the fax driver on the computer to send a fax out. Open the document you want to send, select print and then change the driver to the 7500A fax driver. This will send the document out as a fax. In regard to the screen, it does sound defective. I would contact HP Support to see what options you have available at 1800-474-6836 if in the US

If the touchscreen is bad, and you cannot send directly, the document or item you sent out through the fax driver must by on your computer either by scanning it in, receiving by email or an existing file
