I have a new OfficeJet Pro 9015, all set up and seemingly working OK as far as printing goes.
When I select "Scan" on the printer control panel and then select "Computer", I get a screen telling me the feature has to be set up first. But it doesn't tell me HOW to set it up, other than pointing me to the printer home page at 10.0.1.73. I've been to that page and ensured that "Webscan" is enabled/configured under "Scan to computer". But the same thing still happens when I try to scan directly from the printer to my Mac.
Scanning using the HP Smart app on my Mac works fine. But I want to also be able to use the "Scan to computer" feature directly from the printer.

@RobGUK, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Install the HP Utility for Mac from here. Now follow the steps below to enable scan to computer on your Mac:
Open the HP Utility Folder and go to Scan to Computer
Try Scanning.
Let me know the outcome.
Cheers 🙂

I am an HP Employee

Hi TEJ1602, and thanks for your answer. Unfortunately, I already tried this, and it doesn't work.
I already had the HP Utility installed from my previous printer. When I try Devices > Add devices, nothing happens – no device is found. When I try Devices > Setup New Device, the printer is listed as a device but greyed out:
If I select the printer and click "Continue", I get the following pop-up:
Since this was old install of the HP Utility app, I deleted it, downloaded the latest version from the link you provided, and reinstalled it. Same result. It seems this printer is only designed to work with the HP Smart app, not the HP Utility.
Any more ideas?

I have a similar problem. However, when I check the printer home page it states that WEBSCAN is disabled--with no indication of how to enable it.
I own the printer so I am not sure how to reset WEBSCAN.
I have a very angry partner who wants to scan directly from the printer to her Mac.
Please help us.

Go to your printer's homepage, click on Settings in the top menu bar, OK the warning that pops up about redirecting to a secure page, then click Security and then Administrator settings in the lefthand menu bar. Make sure all relevant boxes under "Scan" are checked, especially "Webscan from EWS", then click on Apply at the bottom.
Like I said, Webscan now shows as being enabled, but I still can't scan directly from the printer to my Mac.

I have the same problem. Updated my security for EWS but the HP Utility does not recognize the 9015 printer.
It still thinks I have the 8710 which went to its silicon grave recently.
Is there an update to HP Utility for the 9015 ?
