I tried it. Did nothing. I was pressing down the power button while doing it. It didn't flash after i did the sequence. nothing really happened. But i did notice something. Wifi direct is working. I can connect to the printer via wifi direct. That gave me an idea and I tried a wps setup and to my surprise it worked! the printer is now connected to a network again. But The ews issue still persists. I tried all the previous advice after connecting it to the network but it didn't work. I'm still locked out of ews

Hello,
The only option i see is to do a Firmware Update on this printer.
You may visit the software page using the below link to download and run the Firmware update available.
If the issue still persist, its time to go for a new printer.

I downloaded the firmware updater but it won't flash the firmware over the existing one as it's the same as the latest version available. Is there any alternate method to flash the firmware?
The printer is a little over 2 years old. It's got no issues with printing. It'll be a shame if I have to throw it away this issue. Is there really no other way to reset the ews password?

Hello M0429,
I am afraid, but there seems to be no other way to get the EWS issue fixed.
I'd certainly agree with you in not giving up with the printer since you are still able to print.
However, try using the HP SMART APP that could be used for Print/Scan .

@m0429 I went through the conversation and I suggest you check my private message for steps on performing a full reset, the instructions are designed for your specific printer and if anyone with a different model would try the steps, it may render the printer unstable, hence a private message would be the safest way of sharing this information: Click here to know how the private message function works.
Stand by for updates!
And have a good day.
(P.S: If anyone wants these instructions for their specific printers, please create a public post and tag me, I'll be happy to help).
