Newly installed ENVY 4500, using wifi. Prints either: only one of two pages, or two-thirds of a page of anything. Tried HP Print and Scan Doctor, test page looks OK with all colours represented, but it only printed on the top half the page ( not sure what full page should look like). Using WIndows 8 and getting error message : "Printer could not print word/ PDF .etc" when printing stops . I've tried shutting down and re-starting both machines. Can anybody help me please? I'm not the most techie-minded of people.

Hello,

I have a similar problem with my HP Envy 4504.

I'm using Windows 7 service pack 1 and a 64 bits-system.

When I print documents that are larger than one page the printer won't print the whole document.

Now it stopped after 4/7 pages, few moment a go after 3/7 pages. Even a document of 2 pages only prints half.

I get no error. The printer just stops printing at a certain point of a page... I reinstalled the drivers twice and have the same problem on both devices that are connected to the printer (one of them is a hp notebook).

Please Help!!!!

Hi Bootess, and welcome to the HP Forums!

I see from your post that you are having issues with Word/PDF documents not printing. I would like to help with that! Now, I do need a little more information, and I have included documents to help you find the information:

Are you using Windows 8 or Windows 8.1?

-I've included this document on Which Windows operating system am I running?

Are you using 32 bit or 64 bit within the operating system?

- I've included a document on Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?

Does this issue occur when you copy a document?

- Using the Copy Function.

Does this issue occur when printing from Notepad?

In the meantime, this sort of issue could be caused by a corruption somewhere within the software. I would suggest uninstalling the software completely. You can use this document on Uninstalling the Printer Software. Once the printer is completely uninstalled, you can reinstall using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.  This will ensure the proper up-to-date software is installed.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

Hello JonasDbs, and welcome to the HP Forums.

Is your printer connected via USB, wireless or ethernet?

Hello JonasDbs,

It appears it is only occuring wirelessly. I would suggest turning off the printer and computer. Once they are both powered down, I would suggest unplugging the power to your wireless router.  Leave the router unplugged for 60 seconds.  Plug the router back in and wait 2-3 minutes while the router begins it's broadcast. Once the router is broadcasting, you can turn on the printer and computer and trying to print. If that does not resolve the issue, I would suggest following this document on Wireless printing center Troubleshooting Issues.

Please let me know if that works for you.

Disconnecting and powering off everything didn't work.

But I do see my printer is cancelling the print job on his own, don't know why... I just see a message appearing saying "Cancelling..."

and that's it. Sort of like the problem stated here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printing-Issues-Troubleshooting/HP-Envy-4500-cancels-job-in-the-middle-...

will see what troubleshooting brings now...
