Thanks! Just tried this procedure but with no success.

In our case any reset method doesn't seem to work.

It feels like the printer is completely dead due to a faulty firmware update. There doesn't seem to be a dual firmware feature which would allow restoring firmware.

I'll call HP tomorrow and if there is no solution (which is my expectation) I'll request a repair via amazon which will fail as there is no way to repair this HP induced problem. Amazon will most likely offer a replacement.

Hello, I have done this manipulation several times with the HP hotline, without success. What you have to understand is the message is displayed immediately. The printheads do not move, it is as if there were no more programs to launch in the printer's memory.

Exactly! The firmware doesn't even load partially, it instantly fails... HP remotely bricked our devices!

Same issue since an HP Smart update a couple of days ago

Have you heard back? Same problem here with my 9020e.

I was given similar recovery instructions over the phone, also did not work. Tried the order given to you, also no success. For anyone in Australia I'm contacting ACCC today to seek a refund as it's clear HP aren't in a position to offer a solution. So disappointing.

I am also in Aus, please let me know how you get on. I am just out of warranty, but this seems like a clear-cut case of failing to meet reasonable warranty.

Also in Aus, HP have responded saying they will be sending out a replacement.

Responded where? How? Please provide more information. I can't find any official statements.
