I have the same issue as everyone else here. I am disappointed that HP do not have a solution for this. Also, their records say that the warranty expired on March 22, 2023, but the product was purchased on April 30, 2022 - why the variance?
While potentially I am out of warranty anyway, the main concern is that HP have effectively "bricked" thousands of printers around the world, and are not providing adequate support for loyal customers who trust HP and rely on their products for work and home use.
HP need to step up and recognise there is an issue and support their world-wide user base for their Officejet Pro 9020-series printers.
Does the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission need to step in? I note that it's not just the cost of the printer at stake here, but also the genuine HP inkjet cartridges with unused ink that now cannot be used.
If HP fail to provide a resolution to this issue, they will have a vast number of customers who will be very reluctant to purchase their printer products again.

I spoke to HP Support Australia today and lodged a case with them. I sense they do know about the issue, but are reluctant to advise customers of anything at this stage - I suspect the higher-ups are working on a response that might include either replacement printers or a cash settlement, but at the moment their corporate line is "we are working on a solution".
Either way, many customers can't wait, and like myself will consider alternatives to HP in order to get themselves up and running again while they wait for a response from HP.

I have the same problem which also happened late on 8 May 2023 in eastern Australia. My printer was bought in September 2022.
HP website says its factory warranty commenced 14 Dec 2021 and finished 13 Mar 2023. So I seem to have no options for support calls. I find this completely unreasonable.

Has anyone attempted to boot the printer with a fat32 USB flash drive plugged in with an older version of the firmware on the root of the drive? Just to see if the printer is smart enough to see if it failed to boot after the last firmware update and to attempt another firmware flash from the USB drive.

I had the same issue. Purchased in March 2022 (but warranty says it started in February 2022 and ended in February 23). Now with this error code issue - and not able to print anything it is an absolute joke. Not to mention how many printer cartridges (which are more expensive than the printer).
Anyone have any news on this. Everything I read indicated that some update from HP would be provided today.
